Have a Good Weekend

Hey everyone I just wanted to wish everyone a good weekend.  (What ever you are celebrating.)  If its Halloween (which the majority probably will), or the Reformation of the church.  Be safe.

I find myself in a funny place this weekend.  As I don’t celebrate Halloween for various reasons, but I have a friend whose birthday falls on this weekend and thus has insisted that I come out with her and some friends dressed up on Halloween.

This led me to a question.  Is it ok for me to dress up for Halloween?  The chief reason I don’t celebrate Halloween is do to my Christian beliefs and the way that Halloween started, as well as, the current way that it is celebrated.  Halloween, regardless of what people say about it, is still a festival celebrating the undead, etc..  And so it does cause me a bit of problem to have to go to a Halloween celebration this weekend.

Do I go or stay at home?  I came to the decision to go.  Am I wrong in going?  I’m not sure.  I feel in many ways that it is ok for me to go since these celebrations are nothing and I feel that I could be a good influence and show love for my friend.   I know that me going is not a grave sin that is going to cause me to lose my salvation, nor do I believe that I am putting myself out there for severe punishment.  Its just what message I am sending that I worry about.

And I know that some are probably reading this thinking that I’m taking these things way to seriously.  I probably am, but its always safe to be serious.

The Microsoft Courier

This is my new object of desire.

500x_courier8

I had heard about this product for last couple of weeks and was finally able to get around to checking it out today.  It is an amazing looking notebook.  I only wish it was a finished product.  The Pictures and videos of this item are unfortunately only computer generations, but if it looks and works the way that the video shows it to, I think Microsoft has a winner.

I know that a lot of people are still waiting on Apple’s mystical tablet,  but it would have to be really amazing to beat the Courier.  Then again,  this is only a working book, it doesn’t seem to be made for entertainment and we can count on any Apple product to have a more entertainment focus.  That said, I think they would be hard pressed to make a better workbook that the Courier.

I’ll be keeping an eye on this product.  I hope that it stays as good as the video.  (For those that missed the video just click the link to check it out on Gizmodo.)

The Cup of Tears Trailer

The Cup of Tears film trailer. Dir. Gary Shore from Gary Shore on Vimeo.

This trailer looks awesome.

I just saw this trailer posted on The Movie Blog and I’m kind of excited for this movie. There is a bit of cheese factor in there, but overall it looks impressive.  And at the same time it is a bit surprising.

Apparently, this film is being done in Ireland of all places and was shot on the ultra cheap Red Camera.  Now I’ve never heard of or watched any films out of Ireland.   Not that films aren’t made there, I just haven’t heard of anything.

Maybe it is the availability of cheaper technology that is now starting to open up other areas of the world to being able to support a film industry. I can only hope that some of this will translate up here to Canada, which runs on business from Hollywood and handouts from our Government.  One can only hope.

A-Team Featurette Online

This video does do a lot to make the A-team kind of seem cool, but I still don’t know about this one.  Rampage kind of seems to acts like Mr. T, but can he pull it off for a whole movie.  And the love angle kind of scares me.  I don’t believe the A-team needs a love angle.  If this film just has some action, and give me some good lines I’ll be happy.  Lets not complicate it with a love story.

This is how you know you have no Shame

Google Wave

Google Wave.  What do you think about it?  I can’t get my head quite around it, but at lest it makes for some pretty cool videos.  Hopefully someone will come up with a way to use this that is compelling or it may just die off like a bunch of other Google Products.

Hosting a Windows 7 Torrenting Party

Nice video.  I’m surprised that no one else did one earlier.

Seth Green freaks out on set!

I caught this little video as I was over at Digg this morning and I had to ask, what is up with all these celebrity freak out videos?   There seem to be more and more celebrity freak out videos hitting the net.  Are celebrities getting more angry or is this the way that it has always been?

Maybe this speaks to the relationships that are forming on set.  I remember doing security in a building that a film was being shot and a cast member mentioning that he doesn’t even speak to the celebrities on the film, as he wanted to keep his job.   I do understand there needing to be a certain level of professionalism on set, but really, should someone fear losing there job if they try to strike up a conversion.  Really?

Well in any case, I hope that things change and we stop seeing these videos, since they really are non of our business.  These incidences started on set and they should be dealt with there.  We as the public don’t really need to know about this stuff, unless there is a great injustice occurring there, like someone gets fired for looking the wrong way at someone.  Its non of our business.

Attack of the Show Spoofs Twilight

No this is just funny.  I liked Twilight, but I have to admit that there were a bunch of cheesy lines and moments in the film.  This video just highlights one of the cheesier moments of the movie and adds a bit of humor to the scene.  Great Video.
